Pharmacy in Action: Advancing Health Literacy and Equity Worldwide is a six-part digital event series uniting voices from across all six WHO regions to showcase how pharmacists are advancing health literacy and equity in health care. Stemming from FIP’s newly launched insight report, How pharmacists worldwide are strengthening health literacy and empowering patients, the report highlights innovative strategies to improve public understanding of health, medicines, and disease prevention, as well as the systemic barriers that limit pharmacists’ impact.

Building community trust through patient-centred pharmacy care- a focus on the Americas

This session highlights pharmacist-led initiatives across the Americas that strengthen trust and engagement within communities. Participants will learn how pharmacists can address diverse patient needs, foster cultural sensitivity, and implement patient-centered approaches that improve medication understanding and adherence. The discussion will feature examples of community outreach, personalised care programs, and collaborative initiatives that have successfully bridged gaps in knowledge and access, promoting equitable health outcomes. Attendees will gain actionable strategies to build trust and strengthen the role of pharmacists as accessible, reliable sources of health information
