Use of heat therapy for the management of musculoskeletal pain in the community pharmacy: New FIP guidance
Musculoskeletal (MSK) pain is a common condition affecting millions of people, resulting in reduced quality of life and increased healthcare costs. Community pharmacists play a vital role as the first point of contact for patients seeking relief from MSK pain. In recognition of the Global Day Against Pain, this event will launch a new FIP guidance focused on enhancing the management of MSK pain in pharmacies. The guidance highlights the use of heat therapy, both as a stand-alone treatment and in combination with other therapies. Attendees will learn about types and symptoms of MSK pain, the mechanism of heat therapy, and effective patient assessment and management strategies in the pharmacy setting.
