Obesity: understanding the disease, nutritional approaches and new pharmacological interventions

More than 1 billion people worldwide are obese. The World Health Organization estimates that, by 2025, about 167 million people will be less healthy because they are overweight or obese. In this webinar we will focus on understanding the complexities of obesity, looking at its classification as a disease and a risk factor for chronic diseases such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease and cancer. We will also explore nutritional approaches to obesity prevention and control, and present the latest advances in pharmacological interventions that pharmacists need to be aware of.
