Pharmacy in action: Humanitarian partnerships making a difference

29 October 2026

Humanitarian crises take many forms, from armed conflict, displacement, natural disasters, to public health emergencies, and they continue to affect millions of people across the world. These crises place significant strain on healthcare systems, disrupting access to essential medicines and pharmaceutical care when people need them most. Pharmacists are often on the front line of humanitarian response, helping to maintain continuity of care and support affected communities. The involvement of pharmacists and pharmacy organisations in national emergency preparedness and response planning is therefore essential.
