Pharmacist-supported self-care: Evidence-based, equitable and accessible care for strengthening health systems

24 July 2026

Self-care is essential to strong and resilient health systems and the achievement of Universal Health Coverage (UHC), empowering individuals and communities to manage their health effectively. Pharmacists play a vital role in advancing evidence-based self-care by supporting patient education, strengthening health literacy and improving access to primary care. Through these contributions, pharmacists help promote more equitable, accessible and person-centered healthcare. This digital event will explore how pharmacist-supported self-care contributes to stronger health systems and progress towards UHC. Through expert presentations and the launch of a new FIP report on self-care, participants will gain insights into the evidence, opportunities and practical approaches for advancing self-care through pharmacy practice.
