“‘Transforming Vaccination Globally, Regionally and Nationally’ 2021: Accelerating equity, access and sustainability through policy development and implementation” programme

The 2020 FIP digital programme, entitled: Transforming Vaccination Globally and Regionally was the first FIP outcome-based online programme of its kind, which culminated in the signing of a FIP Commitment to Action on Improving Vaccination Coverage Through Pharmacies by FIP and member organisations to transform vaccinations globally and regionally. Building on the outcomes of the 2020 programme, the FIP 2021 digital programme focuses on supporting FIP members in accelerating programmes of equity, access and sustainability of vaccinations through policy development and implementation. The 12 events explore equity in vaccinations across the different angles of age, gender, literacy & education, and interprofessional unity & collaboration. Regional roundtables will discuss and identify priorities for sustainable access to vaccinations through pharmacies around the world. The programme will result in a FIP commitment to accelerate equity, access and sustainability through policy development and implementation, as well as a special policy collection capturing the outcomes of this transformation programme.

Pharmacist vaccinators and patient safety: FIP DG 19 Patient Safety

In this episode – “Pharmacist Vaccinators and Patient Safety” – is an interview format that focuses on the FIP Development Goal 19: Patient Safety from the perspective of vaccination by a pharmacist. The role of pharmacists in delivering safe vaccinations; participation in vaccination monitoring and adverse event reporting, and the role of improving vaccination rates as a method of reducing overall harm caused by preventable disease.

About the Series: The second of three series is composed of 8 episodes that focus on The FIP Development Goals from the perspective of vaccination. The new FIP Development Goals and the agenda of improving vaccination worldwide come together in this series of interviews that outline how pharmacists and pharmaceutical scientists will deliver on the promise of improved vaccination rates worldwide.

Series 2 will identify the alignment of the goal of improved vaccination rates worldwide through the use of the pharmacist workforce with the FIP Development Goals.
